Welcome to the world of art. A world of beauty and tranquility which
is so different from our hurried and ready-made world. It is the
beauty that captivates us, the aura of famous artists and craftsmen who
created these works of art. When you add to the equation the names of prominent
people who had owned these artworks before, the allure of it all is almost
irresistible. Imagine, the stately mansions where the centuries quietly
slipped by, and where the life and art was inseparably intertwine.
It is the almost unbelievable workmanship that was created back then, which
is, as those times when it was created, a thing of the past.
However, not everything is as perfect as we would wish. Although there are many antiques and works of art still available, the genuine articles are increasingly harder to find, resulting in ever raising prices, sometimes to dizzying heights. That’s where faker and dishonest dealer comes in. Original pieces get “upgraded” or “fancied-up” to jack up the price, destroying the original value in the process. Sometimes the things are made up anew, “antiqued” and “distressed” to imitate the age. Names of famous artist are added and host of other tricks is used to deceive unwary. Do you know which of those items you have inherited or bought privately or on auction are genuine and which are not? Then again you might have a genuine and possibly valuable item. How
would you know how old it is and how much is worth? The obvious answer
is to have it appraised. But appraisals and research associated with it
can be at times a rather costly affair, which should be done only if there
is a reasonable chance that the item is genuine. There is nothing more
disheartening then to be told that your prized possession is a fake and
be presented with large appraisal bill at the same time. This does happen
with some frequency.
InterART is providing services to the seasoned collector as well as to the novice just beginning their collection. We offer services of specialists in the fields of identification, appraisals and restorations performed by highly skilled professionals. We also provide additional service, and that of “preliminary identification”. This is an inexpensive way to find out if your item could be genuine and worth the appraisal if you so desire. InterART also provides services of estate distribution or disposal, whole collection dispersal or a sale of a single item, whether that be fine art, antiques or just ordinary household items. These are sold by public auctions always well attended and internationally advertised. We service insurance companies, museums, lawyers, corporate and private collectors and owners, providing them with personal attention as different circumstances requires. At the request of customers, we conduct research on cultural attribution, provenance, and chronology of antiquities and objects of art, as well as ethnographic artifacts. InterART is actively seeking to buy art and antiques from private and
other sources. We also have small gallery where we offer art and antiques
consigned to us by our customers. All items are fully guarantied to be
as described, with money back policy if found otherwise.
We invite all collectors, art historians, experts in fine art and antiques,
dealers, museums and their curators, and all of you who love art in its
many forms and are willing to share your knowledge and expertise. We want
to provide the best services available anywhere, those that are so important
to the understanding and preservation of our heritage.
We update this section often, as the new items become available or to draw the attention to special items. This month's features include: If you would like to get in touch with us at InterART regarding anythingyou see here, our address is: InterART
