Preliminary Identification Service

How do you know if what you have is valuable? Perhaps you have inherited some antiques from a distant relative or have collected some interesting pieces in your lifetime; if you are not a collector, you probably don't know for sure if what you have is indeed valuable. If it is, and even if you don't wish to sell it, you would probably like to know what you have and if a proper appraisal should be done (if only for insurance purposes).

If you don't want to go to expense of attaining a proper appraisal right away, InterART provides a service tailored just for you. We are offering a Preliminary Identification Service, where you can find out if your item could indeed be genuine and whether it warrants further investigation. This service can be performed from a few good photographs, (see the "How to Take Pictures" page in our FAQ section) and some background information. If it turns out that the item you own is a reproduction or a modern replica, you will be satisfied in the knowledge that you saved yourself some money and time.

If you do decide to sell your antiques through us, you should have them properly identified so that our buyers can be assured that the item is genuine. It will also reflect in the selling price.

This service is available for nominal fee of $15.00 per item, to cover our expenses. There is no form to fill for this service, just send the photographs with a short description, the history of the piece (where it came from) and your payment to our mailing address. We will in due time, forward to you our opinion as to what your item may be.
